10 Famous Places for Suicides In The World

Usually a place can be famous because it has beautiful scenery. But what if a place is famous because of the high number of suicides? Regardless of sin or not from suicide, let's discuss a number of places in this world that became a favorite location for suicide. Here's a list of places that used to be the location of suicide.

10. Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Florida

Opened to the public in 1987, the bridge that was built over Tampa Bay became a beautiful bridge connecting St. Petersburg is in Pinellas County with Terra Ceia in Manatee County, Florida. The bridge stretches along 6,668 km and becomes the first place we will discuss in the list of world famous suicides.
From since it was built until 2009, at least 207 people have committed suicide by jumping off the bridge. A total of 34 people with luck can still survive after jumping from a height of 53 meters. In 1999, to reduce the number of suicides, added a number of officers to guard around the bridge.



9. Beachy Head, UK

It has amazing views, Beachy Head's reputation must be damaged by the number of people who commit suicide there. Beachy Head is a high limestone cliff located in East Sussex, England. Very close to Eastbourne, this cliff has a height of about 160 km above sea level.
Beautiful but lethal, this is the right expression pinned for Beachy Head. A year about 20 people end their lives by jumping off the cliff. According to estimates, as many as 50 people each year come to The Gap to commit suicide. Not only from Sydney, even other cities around Sydney also make The Gap a place to commit suicide. One of Australia's famous newscasters, Charmaine Dragun committed suicide on this cliff.


7. Niagara Falls, America


Between Canada and America separated by a waterfall, Niagara. Waterfall is very famous that never deserted visitors. This waterfall has a height of about 50 meters with a tremendous flow of water. Although Niagara Falls is a favorite tourist attraction in America, this place stores a number of dark stories where many people commit suicide there.
The rushing waters make people can drift so quickly jumping down the waterfall. Between 1856 and 1995 there were as many as 2,780 people declared dead after jumping down Niagara Falls. Although most likely people who jumped into Niagara Falls would die, there are some people who survived like Annie Edson Taylor. Annie, who was climbing a barrel, was swept up and down.

6. London Underground, UK



London has a fairly popular transportation in the world, it is "London Underground". This subway has been operating since the 19th century and has 270 stations with 11 lines and 402 km of tracks. Its amazing ,But who would have thought that place became a favorite place of people to commit suicide.

In addition to being known as one of the industrialized countries, China is known as one of the most densely populated countries on earth. The high population in China seems to be high with suicide rates. And, the favorite spot to commit suicide in China is the Yangtze River Bridge.
Nanjing City is a city where you can find this bridge. The city is also the largest contributor to the city's most frequent number of suicides. According to estimates, every 2 minutes there is someone who attempted to commit suicide in China. The Yangtze River Bridge has a height of about 70 meters above the river. The bridge was completed in 1968 and 40 years later, as many as 2,000 deaths occurred on the bridge.
