Seagate Brings 12TB HDD to Desktop and NAS




High-capacity HDD competition re-enlivened by one of the world's leading HDD manufacturers,  Seagate. HDD manufacturer that stood since 1979, re-enliven the HDD market with large capacity after previously had launched HDD capacity of 10TB. This time, Seagate presents a 12TB HDD.
The presence of HDD 12TB 3.5 "is offered by Seagate is through two series HDD flagship, among others BarraCuda Pro for PC Desktop and IronWolf for NAS system. Seagate BarraCuda HD HDD is intended for professional PC Desktop users, such as PC gaming or creative content creators. While the Seagate IronWolf HDD is more intended for the enterprise, including SMB (Small Medium Businesses).

For Seagate IronWolf 12TB HDD, Seagate completes the HDD with IHM (IronWolf Health Management) software support. This software can be used on some NAS systems such as Synology, QNAP and Asustor, which IHM can improve overall system reliability by displaying prevention, intervention and recovery options.

Matt Rutledge, as Senior Vice President of Business Marketing, Seagate Technology said, "This 12TB HDD product can overcome the capacity constraints commonly faced by PC users and businesspeople." Matt also added that the presence of 12TB HDD products from BarraCuda Pro and IronWolf is the answer for customers and partners of Seagate storage service providers who continue to request to bring the latest and best technology in line with the increased capacity and performance of the products we present.

Regarding availability, Seagate states that the 12TB HDD which consists of IronWolf, IronWolf Pro and BarraCuda Pro is currently in the process of shipping worldwide.
