Former US President Barack Obama returned to politics for the first time after months "disappearing" and avoiding a direct confrontation with President Donald Trump.

The 56-year-old man is scheduled to attend the Democratic Party of Democratic candidate's campaign in New Jersey and Virginia on Thursday (19/10/2017).

Residents in both states will vote in the November 7 gubernatorial election, a year after Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the presidential election.

This battle could be an important indicator of voter sentiment ahead of the 2018 inauguration, which will be a test of Trump and Republicans.

"There are two major elections this year: the election of governors of New Jersey and Virginia," said political scientist Professor Larry Sabato.

So far it is not known what will be conveyed Obama in both campaigns.

Because, since leaving the White House on January 20 last, Obama away from the hustle and bustle of the political world.

Meanwhile, for the first nine months, Trump methodically eliminated key policies of the Obama administration.

On the other hand, Obama after three months of vacation began writing his memoirs, did not appear to the public, and hardly ever interviewed by the media.

Several times Obama sounds when some national issues are considered very important such as immigration, health care, and climate change.

However, the 44th US president was apparently unable to keep silent, let alone Trump repeatedly cast criticism against him.
