A press secretary for the French Armed Forces in Ivory Coast said the plane was carrying military logistics. The wounded were taken to Port-Bouet camp, Abidjan, to be treated.

An aviation analyst claims, the aircraft is an Antonov AN-26-100 model. which was designed by the Soviets, belonged to a company sometimes hired by the United Nations.

Hundreds of residents gathered on the beach near the scene on Saturday as rescue workers rushed to rescue the victims.
