Chinese Scientists Discover New Internet Connectivity Use Light, Ready to Replace Wi-Fi

Technology scientists in China have successfully developed a new Internet connectivity method known as Li-Fi

Through this connectivity, users no longer perform data transfer via traditional radio frequency, but through the light.

Citing the People Daily, this latest development has been busy discussed by scientists since 2011.

However, until now, the latest technology has not been developed further for use in large-scale internet connections.

"Scientists around the world are still doing this. We are the first to successfully create them using cost-effective raw materials, such as urea with simple processing, "said Qu Songnan, a researcher from Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Meanwhile, a team of researchers from the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics and The Chinese Academy of Scientist continues to develop Li-Fi connectivity and has experienced rapid growth in recent months.

Through research conducted, four computers can be connected to the internet via an LED light bulb. With this Li-Fi, data can be transferred via light waves.

During the China International Industry Fair held in Shanghai on 5 November, will be displayed ten samples of Li-Fi that can be tested to the public.

Li-Fi can be a great find for the Chinese Internet community, which is the largest community with a total number of connections reaching 600 million connections.

Unlike sound waves, light can not penetrate the wall and can be removed by a large obstacle or even a closed door.

Currently not yet clear how fast internet connection via Li-Fi later. But predicted, the speed can reach 150 megabits per second, which is faster than the average internet speed in China.
