Movies 'Victoria and Abdul' adapted from a biography entitled 'Victoria & Abdul: The True Story of the Queen's Closest Confidant' by Indian writer Shrabani Basu.

The author reveals the long way he brought facts to the fact of Queen Victoria's closeness and her servant Abdul Karim to a biography.

"I saw this figure when I was following a tour in Queen Victoria's house during her lifetime. There was a lookout of this maid and caught my attention because she looked different," Basu said.
Abdul's appearance in the painting looked authoritative. The painting depicts Abdul, who is looking in a direction while holding a book.

Intrigued, the author spent five years to uncover who the figure of a man in the painting on display at the house of the late Queen Victoria.
A long investigation involving historians, bringing Basu down to Windsor Castle. Basu then asks to see the Victorian Hindustani journals-Abdul's exercise workbook used when teaching the Urdu queen.

"Nobody has ever seen the archives that prove the proximity of Queen Victoria to Abdul Karim, which was stored hundreds of years after the queen was gone," Basu said.
